Music Review
I recently went to another Jack’s Mannequin concert, yes another one. This was my 3rd time seeing them play. The show was at the House of Blues in Boston, MA. They had two show openers, the first was Erin McCarley. I have never heard of her before the show but she was really good. She reminded me of Tristan Prettyman. I ended up downloading a few of her songs when I got back. The next opener was Matt Nathenson who was unbelievable live. He has a lot of energy and a great voice plus he is originally from outside of Boston so everyone was going nuts when he came on.
Finally Jack’s Mannequin came on. My friend and I were sitting up in the VIP balcony which I liked because we had a great view but we were not in the crowd being pushed to the front. I enjoyed sitting there watching sipping on my Sam Adams Summer Ale. I had recently seen them play a few months prior to this show so I was wondering if it was going to be the same. It wasn’t at all, they played completely different songs. I will say I noticed that he didn’t interact with the crowd as much as he did at the other show. This was also a much larger venue so it wasn’t as personal I suppose. After the show we waited at the side door and got to talk to Matt Natheson, I asked him if he ever dated the lead singer from sugar land because she covers one of his songs. He replied saying “I wish” with a big smile. Then Andrew came out and we got a few pictures and chatted before we took off. Over all it was a great concert and those guys are just good people.

Slices

So I was looking on my thumb drive and found all these slices from the mineself project from digital art. The slices cut up all my imiages and made really cool new ones. I thought these would be cool to post since it relates to class...and since I love music I picked these ones first. This is the lead singer of Jacks Mannequin...The above slices came out cool too...it was the whole thing spelled out but some of it got cut up.

Senior Art Exhibit
Recently I went to view the senior art show. When I first walked in I thought it seemed pretty bare. There was not as many seniors in the show case as I thought there would be. The first painting I walked up to was of a giant street. It looked as if it was from a play. I was impressed because it was so big. Then I walked around and looked at different photos seniors took. Everything was pretty good but there were two exhibits that stood out the most to me. The first exhibit you walk behind a cloth and when you are inside this box like set up you instantly feel like you are in a church because of the bench, cross and red wine you have at communion. To the right of me about seven robes all painted different colors were hanging up. These robes where used in the images in front of me. In the different images a girl wore the different robes. She was posed differently each time in a cemetery. Each photo had different things in the backgrounds. All the images were very mystical. The photos ranged from sword fights to throwing fire. I didn’t really understand everything about her piece but thought it was fascinating.
The next exhibit that stood out was the Alison in Wonderland showcase. This was all about recreating Alison in Wonderland. The girl dressed up and had others help dress like the characters from the movie. Then she took stunning black and white photos of the “characters” moving around as if still frames from the movie. Then all around the photos on the wall were what looked like props from the movie or in this case from her photos she took. There was little tables with all the tea cups with the magic poison like from the movie. On the tables there were little clocks and lamps as well. Everything was in perfect place to make you feel like you were there. I thought these two were the most creative from the show. This was my first time at a college showcase and I was very impressed.
